The REAL Kangaroo Café (click on the REAL to see us on You Tube) gets copied page !

The REAL Kangaroo Café TM owns the trademark for our business and the crooks that run these FAKE  Hanoi Kangaroo Hotel - Hostel (and there's at least 2 of them ) as well as the FAKE Kangaroo Café tour mobs have stolen our trademark protected name to try & give some credibility to a number of otherwise very disreputable dumps

The fake Kangaroo Café/s story has grown so considerably over the last few years that we decided to put it on a page of it's own.

There some saying like "imitation is the greatest form of flattery" but being copied isn't really what it's cracked up to be as far as we're concerned.

It's got more to do with plebs who haven't had a new or decent idea in their lives than flattery as far as we've seen.

The story started out a few years ago with a silly old Aussie codger who opened a dormitory style (do people actually stay in dorms anymore ???) doss house in Mui Ne & called it the Kangaroo House

Not content with cashing in on our name, for his logo, he used an almost identical Kangaroo, with of course a Joey in the pouch, changed it in the tiniest of ways & thought he was home free.

We knew that kind of thing wouldn't go the distance (you can't fool all the people etc) & it's since gone arse over head, surprise, surprise !!!

It appears that the codger seemed to open the flood gates & the next thing we knew was that some other some slow old nags (rumoured to be starring in the Vietnamese version of dumb & dumber) had opened a fake, phone box sized tour office at 83 Ma May St, (click to see them on you tube) Ha Noi but forgot to include food & drinks of course !

Next they opened up another cheap & nasty looking place around the corner at 16 Hang Be St, (click to see them on you tube) Ha Noi.  The story has gone on & on & now with even fake Kangaroo Hotels (10e Dinh Liet St (click to see them on you tube) & 71 Hang Luoc St (click to see them on you tube)

Our mates in Nha Trang Next tell us there's even a greasy spoon down there called the Cool Kangaroo ??? of all things.

One of the things that all of these dills above have never had or will ever get, apart from a new idea, is a genuine tourist license & without it the customer is in big trouble.

To choose to, want to or have to open up a business in such an ill conceived, half arsed & selfish way, spells trouble with a capital TROUBLE !!!

All of these crooks have every reason to mislead you about who they really are.

The filthy hotels in Ha Noi who stole our name double up as short time hotels & will think nothing of renting your room out while you're away which is most of the time for normal tourists who are out & about sight seeing.

This came to light with some of the people coming back to the hotel unexpectedly & being kept at bay in the foyer until the hooker & their client snuck out the back door.  Having had endless run ins with the coppers the only way the crooked hotel owner could think of surviving was to steal our name & then they could fool everybody ????

Dumb & dumber is right !

One of the most stupid things about the fake Kangaroo Café mobs is they accept credit cards.  If you've been caught out by any of them & paid by way of your credit card, please pop in & see us & we'll provide you with the necessary paperwork to assist you in getting a full refund from your bank & as the Real Kangaroo Café with the Real bona fides, this is something we can most certainly do.

Banks don't like their customers being cheated either & the sooner these would be pimps & con artists have their credit card authorisations cancelled, the better.

Another way to square up with the fake mobs or anyone in Viet Nam who try's to mislead you is to contact the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism.  They're located in all the bigger towns & cities in Viet Nam & the Ha Noi office is on the 2nd floor at No 3 Le Lai St, Ha Noi (844) 824 7652 & you really should lodge an official complaint.

You'll be doing your bit to stop it happening to the next person & you'll find the VNAT people most intolerant of people trying to harm Vietnamese tourism industry in any way.

These fake mobs are ripping off tourists every day with all the usual scams but by stealing our name they can buy the cheapest, nastiest tours (the usual sing, bing, ling, ting, 50 people on the boat kind of disasters) & then sell them to you as our tours, charge you at our prices, & then laugh all the way to the bank.

They really do think that western tourists are rich, stupid and gullible & if they didn't, they wouldn't try something as lame as this on.  The old rip, tear & bust attitude simply won't work in even the short or medium term let alone the long term & anyway it's just not on.

Over the years we've seen just so many of these kind of mobs start up & go under in no time fast and it all boils down to 3 things usually.

Arrogance, greed & stupidity !

There's no such thing as a free lunch,  a quick quid or easy money but there's simply no getting these basic fundamentals through to some people.  Our old mates at all these fake dumps are the perfect example of the 3 things.  They don't stop with ripping you off for the tours either !

At the fake hotels, there's the old over charging you for your rooms, dud airport pick ups, charging for things you never had, hassling for postcards, guide books, jewellery, wacky tabacky etc, etc !

As if that's not enough it gets even nastier with the really hard sell for their dodgy massage (see boom boom ! ) and at the end of the day there's no come back for you the consumer because legally they actually don't exist.

The 1 and only REAL, Aussie run, Kangaroo Café TM has been specialising in small group travel, tours, holidays and vacations for singles, couples, small groups and families to since 1994.

We've had great reviews in the New York times, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Boston Globe to name just a few. We were recently featured on the channel 7 (Australia) tele-documentary, The World Around Us with Scottie McGregor & we're listed in all the leading guide books.  A look at our Testimonials page & you'll see why we're so often copied.

Here's some recent reviews (Life etc from the ABC in OZ & the Singapore Airlines in-flight magazine) that we were understandably, very pleased about !
